You may choose how long to rent a yacht, depending on availability. Many charters are for one week, but some yachts offer a longer duration (multiple weeks or custom-events).
While it is common to charter a yacht for a full week, you are not necessarily required to do so. We can arrange a charter for fewer days (subject to yacht availability) if that better suits you.
Yes — you may select your preferred start date, provided the yacht is available and the schedule permits.
Charter rates are usually quoted per week. If the charter is for more than a week, the weekly rate is pro-rated by dividing by seven and multiplying by the number of days. For charters under a full week, it may be divided by six (or another contract standard) and multiplied accordingly. Charter rates also vary by season (high vs low) and destination.
The charter rate typically includes the yacht, crew services, and necessary equipment. It usually does not include VAT or other local taxes, fuel, food & beverage provisioning, communication costs, canal or port fees, delivery/redelivery fees (if embarking/disembarking at a non-home port), or other incidental expenses.
APA is an amount set aside to cover running operational costs during your charter — for example: fuel, food and drink, port and marina charges, special requests, and on-board consumables. The percentage varies by yacht (often between ~25% – 40% of the charter fee). At the end of the charter, remaining funds are typically returned or credited accordingly.
Crew gratuities are optional, but it is customary to leave around 10 % – 20 % of the charter fee — depending on satisfaction and the level of service. Usually the Captain (or your charter consultant) handles distribution to ensure all crew members are recognised.
Absolutely. Our team of specialist charter consultants will work closely with you to understand your preferences, style and destination, to recommend the yachts that best suit your requirements and budget.
You begin by selecting the yacht you’re interested in, then submitting an inquiry via our online form or speaking directly with a charter consultant. We’ll check availability, confirm rates, and prepare the charter agreement.
Once availability is confirmed, you’ll receive a Charter Agreement that outlines terms and conditions. To secure the booking, a deposit is required (often ~50 % of the charter fee), followed by the balance and APA (and any applicable taxes/fees) before embarkation.
Cancellation policies depend on the charter contract (often the standard MYBA terms) and the timing of cancellation. The owner may retain the deposit or the full charter fee depending on how close to the start date the cancellation is made. We recommend discussing cancellation insurance options and alternative dates with your consultant.
Yes. Due to international regulatory and anti-money-laundering requirements, identity verification is required before the charter agreement can be finalised. Documentation requirements depend on whether the contracting party is an individual or a legal entity.
For individuals we typically ask for certified proof of identity (passport or national ID) and proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the past 3–6 months). For companies we request evidence of incorporation and beneficial-ownership information, among others. Specific document requests vary by case.
Yes — while guest liability may be covered under the owner’s policy, it’s prudent to obtain extra cover to relax fully and enjoy your holiday without worry. This covers damage to hull, tenders, toys, interior furnishings, or other equipment.
Yes — charter holidays represent a significant investment and life circumstances may change. Trip cancellation insurance can protect your pre-paid charter fee or part of it if you must cancel for unforeseen reasons.
Guest capacity depends on the yacht’s size, registration and the number of staterooms. Many yachts are registered for up to 12 overnight guests, but group sizes may vary. If you have a larger party, please let us know and we will seek appropriately certified vessels.
Yes — you’ll be able to enjoy the onboard amenities as expected. However certain water-toys (e.g., jet skis, wave-runners) may have specific local licensing or age restrictions; to use scuba gear you may need a certified diving license unless an instructor is provided.
Smoking policies vary by yacht. In most cases smoking inside cabins is strictly prohibited for safety and insurance reasons. If you wish to smoke, ask your consultant in advance so we can confirm the rules with the yacht owner/captain.
Yes — you’ll work with our charter consultant and Captain to tailor your route. Factors such as yacht home-port, speed, weather, local regulations and marinas will influence the final itinerary. If you disembark or embark away from the home port, delivery/return fees may apply.
